Fail to train, train to fail.
Have you trained your staff on eliminating sexual harassment in the workplace?
As from 26 October 2024 employers will be under a legal duty to train staff to avoid sexual harassment. Where a successful claim is brought for sexual harassment and there is also a failure to train, Employment Tribunals will be able to award a 25% uplift in compensation. In the worst case scenario compensation for sexual harassment claims can run into seven figures.
In one recent Government report 72% of the population reported being sexually harassed during their working life, whilst 43% had experienced at least one incident of sexual harassment in the last 12 months.
